William Thomas

A lifelong educator, Will Thomas taught US History and America Government at Manchester, NH Central High School from 1969 to 2002. He taught courses such as  "Lessons of the Vietnam War," and "Facing History and Ourselves: the Holocaust and Human Behavior." In 1989 he became a member of Veterans for Peace and creates awareness for the Veterans of Peace to people all over the world.

Biography

William Thomas was born in Manchester New Hampshire in 1943. He is a veteran who served in the US Naval Reserves 1961-1969. He was on Active Duty - 1961-1963 and served aboard the USS Okinawa (LPH-3), and was part of the US naval blockade of Cuba in October of 1962 during the Cuban Missile Crisis. 

Will’s father was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War, and at one point during his service, he was stationed in Germany for six years, so Will went to school there and graduated from from Augsburg American high school. 

Will later attended Keene State College in New Hampshire where he earned a  - B. Ed. degree in Education. He later attended University of New Hampshire Graduate School where he received received Master’s degree in History. A lifelong educator, he taught US History and America Government at Manchester, NH Central High School from 1969 to 2002. He taught courses such as  "Lessons of the Vietnam War," and "Facing History and Ourselves: the Holocaust and Human Behavior." 

In 1989 he became a member of Veterans for Peace and to date continues to create awareness for the Veterans of Peace to people all over the world. He married his wife Wendy in 1974 and they have a daughter, Amanda.
