Our new film: STEWART UDALL and the Politics of Beauty is finally in the home stretch; to raise finishing funds, we’ve launched a campaign on Kickstarter. It’s a beautiful campaign, and I know you’ll love it. The page itself is beautiful – we’re very proud - and I can’t wait for you to check it out. There’s also a short new video trailer I think you’ll like. We hope to complete the film in mid-September and it will premiere in Santa Fe in October.
As you'll see, we are off to a great start on the campaign, but every contribution matters as Kickstarter more actively promotes project with large numbers of smaller backers. We set our target low because Kickstarter is an all or nothing proposition. We will make our goal but we can make a stronger film with more support and really get it out there. Let me know if you like a screening in your community! Amazingly, Kickstarter has already labeled this A PROJECT WE LOVE, a designation only about 10% of documentaries get. Please visit today by clicking the link.
All contributions are tax deductible. Our Kickstarter campaign includes many great rewards for your contribution (in addition to helping make a truly important film), among them VIP tickets to the Interior Department screening, film previews, downloads and DVDs, posters, T-shirts and many others. Check them out!
During my 40 years of filmmaking, I’ve always refrained from asking friends and associates for funding support. But our new film STEWART UDALL AND THE POLITICS OF BEAUTY (www.stewartudallfilm.org) warrants an exception. This film may be the most important documentary of my 45-year career. It is especially timely because Udall’s is a story of political courage and integrity, on behalf of racial justice, world peace, the arts, bipartisan cooperation for the common good, and especially, our threatened natural environment.
Please consider supporting our new Kickstarter campaign and the sooner you can, the better as it creates more momentum. And share the link with others! We truly hope to exceed our goal because these funds will go a long way toward archival film and photo costs, music expenses, promotion and modest compensation for the producers, for whom the film has been a labor of love for more than two years.
This film will be seen widely, on television, in festivals and in public screenings including a Washington DC premiere at the Department of the Interior Building, named for Stewart Udall.
Please share this request with others you know and email me at jodg@comcast.net if you need further information. I think you will see from our Kickstarter page just how rich in content, beauty and inspiration, and how timely this film is. We’ve worked with a true expert on this campaign and we are all grateful for his work and proud of what we have here.
No contribution is too small. Thank you so much for considering this request. If you do contribute, let me know so I can keep you informed of film screenings and events. We’d love to have one in your town.
Towards a beautiful America, and thank you so so much!!!
